Ireland's Variable Weather
Ireland's weather is noteable for being temperate and changeable. The Gulf Stream(The North Atlantic Drift), those warm waters from the western side of the Atlantic Ocean help to keep Ireland much warmer than it would otherwise be at such a high latitude. Subsequently the extreme temperatures of mainland Europe are not experienced on this beautiful green island. Visitors should always bring a waterproof jacket as a rain shower can catch them out. In the southwest, it is rare to see frost or snow although the winters of 2009 & 2010 have been exceptionally cold.
